Saturday July 25, 2009 from Frederic Bouland,
The day started with a downpour at 7 am so we had to go to plan B with the stud , we went for bullet inside and grass tip outside both about an inche long, very big for arizona standard.
In the meantime, the xc start was delay by an hour. In the ** 14 out of 21 riders had time penalties with very few jump penalty. In the * everybody was aware of the time and it became less of an issue.

Catherine had a great ride. She was slightly behind her first ,second and third minute by about ten second then open up and was about ten second ahead at the six minutes mark, she keep her rythmn and finish 8 second under time. Double clean !!

Her horse came in the box with a temp of 104.5 and his respiration and heart rate was excellent.
After aggressive cooling his temp went down rapidly and was release from D box within 15 to 20 min. He is now recovering with icing, poultice,iv fluide and electromagnetic therapy, cookies , carrots and apple.

Catherine is now in 8th place . The competition is still very much alive as the score are very close. Jog will be at 8 am tomorrow.

Hello, The weather is much better today and we are expecting sunshine by tomorrow.
We draw fifth position in the team competition and were able to have catherine going second in the team. She will actually be the first of the team to go as we only have 3 rider in the team; so she will be able to go at a good time 9:23 for dressage and 10:06 for xc ,the track should still be in good shape for her. Today's work was a little difficult as the aviator didn't like to have his face splashed by the mud. The competion ring is in good shape and this shouldn't be a problem tomorrow.

Hi, Everybody arrived in good shape ,missing a little bit of sleep. The weather is superb ,low 60 to low 80. The Kentucky Horse Park is pretty hectic with the young rider ,a big hunter jumper show and the construction for the WEG going on all at the same time. Catherine went for a hack this morning and The Aviator took a look at the steeplechase field and was ready to go.
We will jump him a little bit this afternoon.
